Coming into care with no experience or training isn't a concern with Routes Academy. We have a dedicated 'Care Cadet' programme which provides you with full, comprehensive training, guidance and support to achieve your Care Certificate and feel confident in your new role.

What does being a Care Assistant mean?

Being a Care Assistant for home care involves providing care to individuals who wish to remain in their own homes but require additional support, often due to age, illness, or disability. You'll play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for these individuals. This includes assisting with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and companionship.

Our hands-on training workshops give you the insight and practical skills essential for a career in home care. These workshops often cover a range of topics, including Moving and Handling, Safeguarding, and Medication Administration.

10 interactive E-Learning courses online

Beyond workshops, we have numerous online courses with our e-learning platform. These courses are designed to be engaging and informative, ensuring that you develop the necessary skills to provide high-quality care.


2-Day Care Cadet Workshop

Our Care Cadet program includes an enhanced 2-day workshop dedicated to giving you the knowledge and insight to go into your role feeling confident.


Your very own Mentor

You'll have a mentor by your side as you begin to work in the field, offering guidance and advice. They will be showing you the ropes, helping you navigate the role make the journey less daunting.

Achieve your Care Certificate with Routes Healthcare

At the end of our Care Cadet programme you will receive your Care Certificate. This certificate opens doors to a rewarding career in healthcare and can be a stepping stone to further qualifications and career progression.
