How We Work with Your Family
We don't show up with a pre-written care plan. Every family is different, every situation is different. Here's how we figure out what would actually help support your loved one - beginning with the very first conversation.
1. Have a chat with us
Ring our enquiry team for a conversation about what's happening and whether home care could help.
If you need care urgently, we can usually arrange an assessment within 24-48 hours across Preston and South Ribble to get you the care you need without delay.
2. We visit for a free assessment
A member from our local team will visit you at your home (or your loved ones home). The care assessment takes about 30 minutes to an hour, and it's more of a two-sided conversation, not a sales pitch from us!
During your care assessment, we'll talk about:
- What help your loved one needs right now
- What matters most to them about staying at home
- What would give you peace of mind as a family
- Home care options that might work - visiting care, live-in care, maybe respite
If you decide home care isn't right after talking it through, that's perfectly fine. What matters most is that your loved one get the support that's right for them.
3. We create your care plan together
Based on what we've discussed, our team puts together a care plan that fits your situation. This covers:
- When care happens (morning visits, lunchtime support, evening settling, overnight, or 24/7 live-in)
- What each visit includes (personal care, medication reminders, meals, companionship)
- Which carers we're matching to your loved one (we think about personalities, not just skills)
- How we'll work with your local GP and healthcare teams
- Emergency contacts and what to do if something changes
You're involved in all of this: this is about working together to put a care plan in place that is based on what your loved one prefers.
3. Care Begins When You're Ready
Some families want care to start immediately. Others prefer a few days to think it through. We work to your timescale. Once home care starts:
- We stay in regular contact
- If something's not working, tell us and we'll adjust it
- If your loved one's needs change, we change the care plan
- You can call our office directly when you're worried about something
We know needs can change. Sometimes people need more support, sometimes less. We adapt as you go.
Care That Truly Feels Like Home
Our team isn't just professionally trained - they're genuinely caring people who understand how significant this step feels for you and your family. We know that choosing care takes courage, and we're here to make that journey feel right.
Heartfelt
We genuinely care about the people we supports. Our carers take time to understand your story, notice when you're having a difficult day, and celebrate the good moments alongside you. This isn't just professional care - it's personal connection.
Open
We believe the best care comes from really listening to you and working together. When you share your concerns, preferences, or worries with us, we take them seriously and adjust how we support you. Open communication helps us understand what's working well and what needs to change.
Meaningful
We focus on the moments and experiences that truly matter to your wellbeing and happiness. Whether it's sharing a cup of tea, enjoying familiar conversations, or simply being there when you need support, we understand that meaningful care comes from genuine human connection.
Empowering
We believe you should remain in control of your life, your choices, and your daily routines. Our role is to provide support that enables your independence rather than replacing it. We work alongside you to help you live the life you choose in your own home.
