Partnering for Reliable Care Delivery Across Northern England

We've worked alongside local authorities across Northern England since 2009, delivering home care when it matters most. Whether it's supporting hospital discharge, managing complex clinical needs, or providing rapid response during winter pressures, we're here to help keep people safe at home.

Why Local Authorities Choose from Routes

Capacity Across Northern England

With ten local hubs from Merseyside and Lancashire and across to the North East, we've got regional coverage and local knowledge. We can scale up during winter pressures and maintain packages long-term. Our 1,400 staff give us the flexibility to respond when demand spikes.

Rapid Response When You Need It

Our Fast-Track team can mobilise care packages within hours, not days. This means fewer delayed discharges, reduced hospital admissions, and people getting home where they want to be. We understand the pressure on acute services, and we're set up to respond quickly.

Clinical Expertise You Can Rely On

For clients who need clinical care, we provide registered nurse oversight as part of their care package. We specialise in complex care including brain injury, spinal injury, tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, and ventilation support. If it needs clinical knowledge, we've got the capability.

Transparent Pricing and Direct Employment

All our carers are directly employed and trained in-house with our award-winning Routes Academy. This means consistency for clients and accountability for outcomes. We're upfront about what care costs and what you're getting for it.

CQC Regulated and Quality Driven

Routes Healthcare are regulated by the CQC and registered for TDDI. Regular audits, ongoing training, and a culture that prioritises safety and dignity mean you're partnering with a provider that takes quality seriously.

Local Teams Backed By Central Support

Our managers know their regions inside out, and so do their office teams. Our care network is also backed by central services from HR to finance, meaning they can focus on what matters most - delivering excellent care

    Spot Purchases

Framework agreements with local authorities and NHS partners that allow you to commission ongoing home care services when you need them. People can leave hospital and return to their own homes with the right support in place.

    Block Contracts

Guaranteed capacity funded by the local authority based on a specific number of care hours. This means a set amount of care hours is available whenever you need it - ideal for managing demand and winter pressures.

    Projects & Reablement

Short-term commissioned packages, usually as live-in care, with six weeks of care calls after which ongoing home care support can be arranged if needed. Our teams support people in their own homes to help them regain skills and confidence.
