Routes Academy Pilots Rise to Resilience course

On Thursday afternoon, several of our team took part in a new session for Routes Academy. Rise to Resilience is a new stress awareness course, designed specifically for people working in care.

Included in the session were some of our quality team leads, nurses and case managers, and members of our training team  - the people working behind the scenes who support care delivery every day. The group worked through real scenarios, learned practical tools for managing stress, and left with resources they can actually use. Most importantly, they opened up conversations that need to happen about stress, both in and outside of the workplace.

Wendy's background in counselling brings something different to our training. She gets the weight of working in the care sector and how stress shows up - sometimes in ways we don't recognise until we're already struggling. Rise to Resilience looks at how stress actually shows up in care work, gives people practical techniques they can use in the moment, and helps everyone spot when colleagues might need support. And ultimately, it's about creating space for honest conversations.

Care work is rewarding. It's also demanding. Our people give so much to the clients and families they support every single day. This is our way of giving them support both for their wellbeing and personal development.

The feedback from the pilot has been really positive. We're working out how to roll this out more widely across Routes so more people can benefit from it.
